Hongmin Successfully Enables Production of Small-Diameter Thick-Walled Grouting Pipes

Shandong Hongmin Metal Forming Tech Co., Ltd. has successfully designed and manufactured a set of high-precision ERW tube mill rolls used for the mass production of small-diameter, thick-walled grouting pipes.
The project achieved stable forming, strong welds, and excellent dimensional precision — demonstrating Hongmin’s technical expertise in complex roll design and precision forming.

Grouting pipes used in tunneling and underground construction require exceptional strength, sealing, and pressure resistance.
Among these, small-diameter thick-walled tubes are especially challenging due to concentrated forming stress, difficult weld heat control, and the risk of deformation.

To address these challenges, Hongmin’s engineering team utilized COPRA forming simulation to optimize the roll geometry, opening angle, and welding stress distribution, while implementing vacuum and cryogenic heat treatment to improve wear resistance and forming stability.
After multiple trials, the tooling achieved a 98% first-pass success rate, effectively solving problems such as deformation and uneven stress during thick-walled pipe production.

This successful application once again highlights Hongmin’s comprehensive capability in high-strength, thick-walled, and special-shaped tube forming.
